In Celtic folklore the fox is the clever one: quick-witted, hard to pin down, and read as a sign of change because it grows a whole new coat each year. This fox's face is drawn out of the wood in layer after layer of fine mandala fretwork, the pointed ears, sharp cheeks and watchful eyes built up from warm rust-toned wood over a pale core, so the pattern reads with real depth.
