Sharp angled facets make up this stag, from the branching antlers down to the set of its jaw. Every plane is its own layer of laser-cut wood, hand-painted in natural oil woodstain and stacked, so warm orange edges sit over forest green, deep walnut and pale cream, and the whole head lifts off the wall to throw a soft shadow behind it.
In folklore the stag is read as a sign of renewal, growing a fresh crown of antlers every year. The design is our own, drawn in facets and hand-painted here in Fife, and we cut and paint each piece to order, usually two to seven days before it's on its way. Modern and pared-back against a plain wall, it suits a hallway, a study or a living-room alcove, and warms up as the evening lamps come on.
