A giraffe built up from six layers of fretwork wood, the long tilted ears each carrying a painted eye of their own, a round mandala rosette set on the brow, and a small daisy opening at the base of the neck. The tall almond eyes and the soft muzzle give it a calm, watchful look.
Lit from its wooden base, the cut-work washes cool blue-white through the pattern, or warms right down to a deep amber-red when you turn the dial, across seven colours, four modes and adjustable brightness. Giraffes are often read as a sign of grace and of seeing far ahead, which suits a lamp made to sit high and quiet above a shelf.
It settles onto a chest of drawers in a child's room or a living-room shelf, soft enough to sleep beside on the low setting and enough of a feature to hold the corner when you turn it up. It takes power from any USB and comes with its own plug, so there are no bulbs to buy and nothing to wire in. The giraffe is our own design, and we laser-cut and finish each one by hand in Fife with natural oil, not from a bought-in file, usually within 2–7 days of your order.
